Mei-ling was born in Hong Kong and lived there until she moved to Oakland, California in 2008 to attend California College of the Arts, where she received her BFA with high distinction. Her acceptance into CCA’s Individualized Major allowed her the unique opportunity to craft her own interdisciplinary education, drawing from diverse disciplines such as animation, print- and book-making, textiles, painting, metal, and community arts.
Her works exploring the nature of time and labour through the stitch has shown in galleries across the Bay Area and internationally.
Mei-ling currently lives in the Asheville area of North Carolina. When not working, she makes things at home with her three cats, and consumes a lot of scifi.
