Mei-ling was born in Hong Kong and lived there until she moved to Oakland, California in 2008 to attend California College of the Arts, where she received her BFA with high distinction. Her acceptance into CCA’s Individualized Major allowed her the unique opportunity to craft her own interdisciplinary education, drawing from diverse disciplines such as animation, print- and book-making, textiles, painting, metal and community arts.

Her works exploring the nature of time and labour through the stitch has shown in galleries across the Bay Area and Beijing, China.

Mei-ling currently works full time at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, a contemporary multidisciplinary art-space in downtown San Francisco. When not working, she makes things at home with her three cats, and watches a lot of scifi.
